  6. One of those records I’ve had for a long time but still come back to time and time again. The title track still has an indescribable effect on me.

  12. Wow!!! A very interesting disc indeed. I can not ever recall seeing this in the racks “back in the day”.I guess we can assume this one sank without a trace too… Which of course is a crime! I hear traces of Sly & The family Stone in here as well. Thank You Nikos and Mr. Moo for your love, devotion and all the hard work you have put into bringing this fantastic music to the people.

  21. Wonderful LP - that raw energy is irresistable - sounding like they were having a real gas in the studio. Exceptional vocals and passion. Being a little boring, my faves are the more sweet ‘Who’s for the young’ and ‘Take me back’, but this really is a album experience. Thank you so much Mr Moo for introducing this rare beauty.

  41. Mr. Moo,
Thank you for featuring The Brothers on your site, and thanks to all of the Bloggers who made such wonderful comments about our music. I am Curtis Johnson, one of the originators of the group, and while Googling Brothers Unlimited, I came across your site. I e-mailed the link to that page, to my contacts that include some of the remaining members of the group.
    Thanks & God Bless

    Comment by Curtis — May 17, 2010 @ 6:44 am

  42. Mr. Moo,

I am the son of one of the original Brothers Unlimited (Harold Johnson). Like my uncle Curtis (another original Brothers Unlimited) said earlier in a blog, I too want to thank you guys for showcasing The Brothers. My father would be proud that the music that I listen to from an early childhood has continue to inspire others to this very day.

Thank You Again and God Bless You

  47. One word is sufficient for this one … awesome !
    Thanks!!

    Comment by Grumpy — June 2, 2010 @ 10:40 am

  48. First off, thanks for this one. I listened to it and the Black Magic records this morning. This is a bit more in the Mer-Da vein, maybe. But, hey, I don’t wanna be negative, but I must point out that you mention the Fallout label, who reissued the Brothers Unlimited record. You should be aware that Fallout has a VERY bad reputation amongst reputable music folks as a label who essentially bootlegs old records such as this one–they don’t license stuff and they don’t work from best sources (often from LPs) and in general, aren’t reputable. Feel free to look up the rather extensive info to this effect on the interwebs. (I have personal experience with Fallout via a friend of mine, whose rather well-known and now officially reissued record they put out in their shoddy fashion a few years back, so I hope you’ll take this into consideration when you tell folks to buy the Brothers Unlimited CD from such a label. Are the Brothers getting paid, and was their record actually licensed??)
